Situated in Katosi, Mukono District the plant was developed by the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) to augment water supply beyond the overburdened Ggaba system. It serves Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono districts aiming to support the urban population.
GETLAB was contracted to conduct the geotechnical investigations before construction to aid in proper Foundation Design and stability.

The Lake Victoria Protection Phase II (LVP II) project aimed to curb the pollution and ecological degradation of Lake Victoria—especially in the Inner and Outer Murchison Bay—by enhancing Kampala’s sanitation infrastructure. It included: Construction of the Nakivubo Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Bugolobi and Construction of the Kinawataka Pre-Treatment Plant (PTP) with a pumping station.
GETLAB was contracted to conduct the geotechnical investigations before construction to assess the subsurface parameters aiding in proper Foundation Design and stability.
