GETLAB helped AURECON carry out geotechnical and material testing for Kampala Bombo Express Highway

Challenge

The Kampala–Bombo Expressway is a proposed four-lane, dual carriage highway in the Central Region of Uganda, connecting, Kampala, the capital city, and Bombo, in Luweero District. The project is part of efforts to decongest Kampala.

Solution

AURECON worked with GETLAB to carry out several geotechnical and material Testing services for the Kampala Bombo Express Highway project.

Results

The investigaions were used to make decisions on the route alignment, materials to be used, and construction techniques, minimizing future risks such as road failure or excessive maintenance costs.

This test was used to evaluate the subgrade’s compaction bearing capacity and identify weak zones for foundation reinforcement
